2 Do you cater for functions?

We are a premium specialist High Tea venue and have a number of spaces available for your special occasion. We have successfully catered for birthdays, hen’s parties, engagements, baby showers and weddings.  We have two downstairs function rooms holding a maximum of 15 persons in each and two upstairs rooms holding a maximum of 10 persons and 8 persons respectively.

All of our larger functions are held in our front garden on the manicured lawn surrounded by our English cottage garden and the Rumsey Rose Garden. This area is covered by a marqee and can seat up to 60 guests.

5 Do we have to book for High Tea or can we just walk in?

If you would like to indulge in High Tea on the weekends, due to high demand, it is highly recommended that you book prior to arriving to avoid disappointment.  However, you are welcome to walk in on the day but we will only be able to accommodate you if we have availabilities.

We also recommend that you book your High Tea during the week (Tuesday to Sunday) to avoid disappointment but again we will happily accommodate you if we have availabilities.

1 Do you have gluten free and dairy free options?

Being a High Tea specialist we do offer gluten free and dairy free High Teas.

Please note that gluten free and dairy free High Teas must be pre- ordered at least 3 days prior to your booking. There is an extra $5 charge per gluten free or dairy free high tea.

6 Where is the parking?

There is plenty of on-site parking. As you drive into Parramatta Park through the Macquarie St gates, there is parking right next to our cottage.

6 Do you do Gift Vouchers?

Our High Tea gift vouchers are a beautiful way to spoil a loved one. Simply call us on 9636 1515 or book online https://gatehousetearooms.com.au/shop/.They will be sent out via Express Post with a Postage and Handling fee of $9.95 The cost of the gift voucher and postage is payable at the time of ordering it.

1 Do you cater for kid’s birthday parties?

Gatehouse High Tea Rooms is a specialist High Tea venue and we pride ourselves on our delectable food, excellent customer service and an exceptional experience. As such, kids’ birthday parties are not our specialty as we consider ourselves more of an adults retreat. Based on our expensive hospitality experience we would highly recommend looking to book a venue that specializes in kids birthday parties to ensure your little one has the time of his/her life.

3 What are your payment options?

We accept cash, Mastercard, Visa, and EFTPOS.  American Express and cheques are not accepted.

4 Is pre-payment required for High Tea?

We require a credit card number for all bookings over 4 persons to confirm and hold your table.

If you have pre-booked a function, final numbers and full payment is required 4 days prior to your function.

Bookings of 4 persons or less may make payment on the day of their High Tea experience.

2 What are the seating times for High Tea?

Our weekend High Tea seatings are at 10.30 am, 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm and run for two hours.

During the week anytime between 9am and 4pm is available for High Tea.

We respectfully request that our 2 hour High Tea service time is observed to ensure the group following your service time enjoys a full 2 hours as well.

3 Some of my guests are running late to the pre-booked High Tea function. Are we able to exceed the two hour High Tea window?

We understand that life is fluid and from time to time guests might be running late to the function. We are not able to extend the two hour booking as this will have a knock on effect on any subsequent bookings.

We always endeavor to provide exceptional customer service to all our guests as this is a huge part of the exquisite High Tea experience so we thank you in advance for your understanding.

4 Can we book and have a light meal instead of High Tea?

We value all our guests but as a High Tea specialist venue our High Tea customers take priority and subsequently we only take bookings for High Tea during our busy weekend service.

You may book a table for a light meal during the week.

If you are after a light meal you are most welcome to walk in on any given day subject to an available table.

5 I booked via your online booking system. What happens next?

If you have sent us an online enquiry, you will receive an automated response confirming that we have received your message. We will contact you shortly to confirm your booking.
